You may be interested in joining the BIOTUTOR-L Discussion List, an active email forum for discussion of the teaching of biology in schools and colleges (UK based, but with over 350 subscribers worldwide). Details of other Discussion Lists can be found from the Discussion Lists page. You may also be interested in the Resources Library where teachers deposit their practical schedules, lesson plans and other materials. We are also currently expanding our Talks Programme to acheive national coverage. These arre talks given by University staff (and similar prfessionals) who will be willing either to visit your school or organise a visit to thier site. If you have students who are interested in going on to study biology at University the Going to University page houses a wealth of information to help them find out about BioScience Departments in the UK (and it now also includes details of Medical, Dental, Veterinary, Nursing and Midwifery Departments). We also have a massive Web Links page which links to over 200 useful Web Resources. The Education Bodies (including Examination Boards) links on this page might be particularly useful. We are also currently expanding our Picture Gallery of images of organisms and biological equipment. Please feel free to download these images and incorporate them into your teaching materials. If you simply want to keep up-to-date with developments in science, our Todays News page is updated daily and provides you with Science News from around the World Wide Web - look at it each day and you will always know whats going on in the world of science. .....And if you are in need of a smile why not have a look at the 4Fun page !!! |
